Last Saturday I shot some images for a wedding client of mine who is setting up a make-up and bespoke occasion design business. Kelly – who’s lovely wedding is featured on this blog – has decided she wants to give up the day job and be her own boss and so Ellky May was born.
Despite having the talent she had little in the way of evidence to show the world her skills. That’s where I stepped in. I shot a series of images capturing two very strong make-up looks, supported by superb styling from Kelly herself and good friend of mine, fellow photographer Natasha Davies. Included in the shoot where numerous still lives of colours and textures from the scene and props and items kindly lent by Natasha, that will help support the Ellky May brand and reenforce the style and elegant grace that Kelly seems able to effortlessly produce.
Our location couldn’t have been more perfect. The Barn at Bury Court in Bentley is the most amazing venue I’ve been to for a long time, and right on my door step too. The oak beamed hall bristling with fairy lights, the en-suite Oast house bedrooms with kitchen and gardens all have a dreamlike quality that would capture the imagination of any bride and groom to be, guaranteeing a wedding to remember (can you tell I’ve worked in advertising?).
For more information on Ellky May watch this space. I’m helping Kelly with branding, a website and printed material to promote her budding business so I’ll be sure to up-date this post as and when I’ve more news.
I’d like to give special thanks to:
